Ingredients:
- 4 boneless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 brioche buns
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 4 tomato slices
- 4 slices of cheese
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
Place the chicken breasts in a zip-top bag and pound them to an even thickness
In a bowl, mix buttermilk and hot sauce
Add the chicken breasts to the mixture and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes
In another bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350F 175C
Remove chicken from the buttermilk mixture and dredge each piece in the seasoned flour mixture until well coated
Fry the chicken in hot oil for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through
Drain on paper towels
Mix mayonnaise and hot sauce in a small bowl to create a spicy mayo sauce
Toast the brioche buns in the skillet for a minute or until they are lightly browned
Assemble the sandwiches: Spread spicy mayo on the buns, add lettuce, tomato slices, fried chicken, and a slice of cheese
Serve the crispy chicken sandwiches immediately and enjoy
